Year 4 Road Safety Workshop
13 Dec 2019
Year 4 were lucky enough to have a visit from Peterborough Local Council to talk to them about ‘Road Safety’. They discussed the various types of crossings, the importance of stopping, looking and listening before crossing the road as well as where to stand safely on the pavement. During our conversation, children identified the dangers of crossing the road with a mobile or headphones as well as what to wear when using a bike or scooter to stay safe. The children were then able to put their ideas into action and in small groups went outside to practise how to use crossings safely. They then practised crossing the road safely where crossings were not available to use. It was a lovely day and Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were lucky enough to receive a certificate and reflective band at the end of the day.
